Spring Speciality Meeting 2014

8-9 May, Prague, Czech Republic

Welcome Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure for us to introduce to you an exciting new meeting concept.
EUROSPINE, the Spine Society of Europe, already has a solid foundation in scientific meetings and education. The concept behind these new ‘spring meetings’ is to add to the strength of the Annual meetings with focused Speciality meetings.

Held in Prague, Czech Republic, which has an excellent EUROSPINE track record, this first two-day conference will focus on hot topics and also have scientific abstract sessions specific to the degenerative disorders of the lumbar spine.

The target audience are active practising spine surgeons from all levels of experience across Europe and beyond.

EUROSPINE will concentrate on providing high-quality podium time in the four half-day sessions available. There will be audit and registry time allocated to outcomes on common lumbar disorders, with data from Spine Tango. Evidence-based educational sessions on common and uncommon topics will meet the needs of continuous professional development in these live educational events. Half of the allocated podium time will be used for abstracts and half for dedicated update and learn sessions. The blind review process with the open and transparent declarations of conflicts that works so well for the large annual meetings will be the model for abstract submission.

Degenerative spondylolisthesis is a common surgical spinal disorder and there will be a focus session on treatments that work, and treatments that do not work. Hot topics will be debated by elite spine specialists with the audience to ensure take-home messages for all participants.

Industry lunchtime workshops, meanwhile, will provide opportunities for raising product awareness and for skill acquisition.

We will celebrate the diversity of practice and procedures that are common practice within the culture of our membership of EUROSPINE and we will be encouraging non-members to join with us in this learning event for a professional life-long benefit.

We very much hope that you will want to join us for the 1st EUROSPINE Spring Speciality Meeting in Prague in 2014.
