Ryang, Yu-Mi

Dr. Ryang is Head of the Dept. of Neurosurgery at the Helios Klinikum Berlin-Buch since February 2019.

She trained at the University Hospital of the Technical University RTWH Aachen and at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University Munich where she was Vice Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery until 2019.

She is a specialist in vascular neurosurgery, neurooncology and spine surgery.

Her special clinical and scientific interests in spine surgery are spinal navigation, the aging spine and emerging technologies such as the development of novel spinal implants and robotic assistance. She loves the interdisciplinary character of EUROSPINE sharing different views and opinions with orthopaedic/trauma surgeons and teaching other spine surgeons from all over the world to excel in their field by sharing her expertise.

She has (co-)authored numerous articles in international peer-reviewed journals and books and is member of the EUROSPINE Education Committee and faculty of AOSpine, EANS, DGNC and DWG.
