Zileli, Mehmet

Dr.Mehmet Zileli is the Professor of Neurosurgery in the Neurosurgery Department at Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. His current appointments are Chairman ISMISS Turkey Chapter (2018-2022) and Honorary President of the Middle East Spine Society. His past appointments are: First and Founding President of the Spine Section of Turkish Neurosurgical Society (1995-1999), President of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society (2006-2008), President of the World Spinal Column Society (2010-2014), President of the Asia Pacific Cervical Spine Society (2014-2015), Chairman of WFNS Spine Committee (2017-2021). Dr.Mehmet Zileli has made important contributions to the education and training of spine surgeons in Turkey by organizing 20 courses on spine surgery since 1997, three cadaver courses (2003, 2005, 2010). He has also hosted the “Travelling Fellowship of Spine Society of Europe” (2002, 2003, 2004). He is the founder of Turkey's first spine fellowship program that served many national (35) and international (45) fellows. He is the author or co-author of 155 scientific articles (74 international, 81 national), editor of 9 books, and author of 24 international and 81 national book chapters.
