Blattert, Thomas R.

Prof. Blattert is a trauma and orthopedic surgeon, specialized in spinal surgery and trauma management. He currently holds a position as Professor and Chair of the Interdisciplinary Spine Center in Ingolstadt, Germany. Since 2016 he also is Visiting Professor at Xi´an Jiaotong University Medical College Honghui Hospital, China.

Former resident of Harvard University, Boston, and spine fellow at Fritz Magerl´s Spine Center in St. Gallen, Switzerland, he is a EUROSPINE member since 2006. He was Chair of the Meeting Committee from 2014 to 2015 and Secretary for the society from 2015 to 2018. Currently he is the President of EUROSPINE.

Prof. Blattert is Associate Editor of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a regular reviewer for several spine-related journals such as Spine, Scoliosis, and Biomaterials. Prof. Blattert brings a strong expertise in spinal trauma and spinal tumours and additionally focuses on osteoporotic spine, minimally invasive procedures, and augmentation techniques with biomaterials.
