The airport is located 16 kilometers south of the city and is also known as El Prat.

Connections between Barcelona and the airport and back:
Aerobús (A1 and A2): Daily service between Plaça de Catalunya and Barcelona Airport.
Frequency: every 10 minutes.
Approximate journey time: 35 minutes.

Train (RENFE): Daily connections with Barcelona Airport from the Renfe (Spanish Rail) stations at Sants.
Frequency: every 30 minutes.
Journey time: 18 minutes (from Sants).

Metro (TMB):L9 sud metro line connects the city and Barcelona airport (T1 and T2) daily.
Frequency: every 7 minutes.

Access by train
Barcelona has direct railway links with a number of important cities, including Paris, Zurich and Milan, and the high-speed train runs to Madrid, as well as southern and eastern Spain. The city's major railway stations and metropolitan rail network ensure you can travel to Barcelona and anywhere by train without any difficulties.

Access by car
Barcelona is well connected and has a large amount of car parks. The motorway and road network will take you anywhere in the city by car. Please bear in mind that traffic can be heavy at the main entry points of Barcelona during rush hour.

There are two parking garages close to the CCIB:
The 'Diagonal Mar' shopping centre offers 3 hours of parking free of charge. The cost per additional hour is € 3.00

Getting around in Barcelona
Metro, FGC and Tram: Public transport such as the metro, tram and FGC are the quickest, simplest and most convenient way of getting around Barcelona. You can choose from the different ticket types and travel cards.

By bus: A fleet of over 1,000 fully adapted buses serve all areas of Barcelona. The integrated fare system means that travel cards can be used on the metro, trams, FGC and Renfe trains (zone 1)

Public transport tickets can be used both for bus, metro or tram, within a period of 1 hour and 15 minutes. A single ticket is €2.15, a 10 trips ticket is €9.95, a two days ticket is €14.00, a three days ticket is €20.50, a four days ticket is €26.50 and five days ticket is €32.00, you can buy the tickets at the metro stations or at the tourist offices located in the city centre.

By taxi: There are two taxi stands close to the CCIB, onle located in Taulat street between Hotel AC and Hotel Zero Barcelona. The other one is located in Josep Pla street, close to the Hilton Diagonal.
